Donald Rumsfeld once famously said, "As you know, you go to war with the army you have, not the army you might want or wish to have at a later time." So it is with photography. Sometimes you take pictures with the camera you have, the one in your pocket, as opposed to the DSLR back home. And that's OK, in fact it's good practice for photographers of all levels. It's cliche now, but the argument is settled - it's not the equipment that makes the photo, it's the eye and the opportunity.
